I’m one to always try a trend at least once and velvet is no exception! The material is just so rich and luxurious, how could I possibly say no? My first try into the velvet game is coming from this pretty in pink little piece from BP. The color is what initially sold me, but once I received the order, I was just blown away by how beautiful it was in person. The velvet was so soft and the ruffle, one-shoulder detail was too good to pass up.
For the top, I decided to pull out my blush colored tassel earrings from Bauble Bar. The colors from the top and earrings did such a great job of complimenting each other. I really think this was a match made in light pink heaven! Note to self: get these tassel earrings in every color!!
To help make this color pop, I decided to keep the rest of the look basic. no need to have another fabulous color complete for the top spot. These black chinos from J. Crew are usually my go to for a comfy workday. The fit is just so perfect though, I’m letting them have a moment away from the classroom and school polos. Seriously, if you are looking for a good pair of work slacks, get these in every color.
To make this outfit perfect for date night (or maybe even an early jump on Thanksgiving look), I added these heels from Steve Madden. What’s awesome about this style of shoe is that it comes in two different height options. There’s a taller pair if you want to make a statement or a shorter pair if you’re wanting something more practical (or you’re a major klutz like I am). Either way, you and your outfit are winning.
What are some of your favorite velvet pieces? I’ll be shopping around. So, when I find a good batch, I’ll be sure to share a shop guide with you.
