Okay friends, it finally happened. I found the most perfecto outfit for Thanksgiving. It has everything you could possibly need for a great fall look: a button down, just a hint of plaid, dark wash skinny jeans, and a delicious pair of cognac ballet flats. All that’s missing is about a month’s worth of tryptophan and a very full Katie to have a complete Thanksgiving. To quote Joey “they’re my Thanksgiving pants.”
This top from J. Crew Factory is too cute for words. I always love a good button down, but it’s the plaid pocket that got me excited. Just an example of print mixing at its finest! Because of the gorgeous red coloring in the tartan, I wanted to add an equally bright accessory to make it pop, but still tie everything together. This red bucket cross-body bag from Kate Spade is at least two years old, but the color of the leather is rich and luxe. I keep coming back to it again and again. This style is obviously sold out, but here are some of my favorite alternatives, also from Kate Spade.
Okay, on a more serious note. What are your thoughts on this whole half tuck shirt business? I wore this exact outfit to work earlier this week and some co-workers had a lot to say about the matter. My reasoning behind it is actually very simple. I didn’t like the top all the way out, it didn’t look very put together. I didn’t like the top fully tucked in. It billowed oddly and I wasn’t able to move around and do teacher things comfortably. The halfway spot seemed just right. Think of it as the Goldilock effect. Not too hot, not too cold.
I loved it, but I know not everyone is going to be a fan of what I wear 100% of the time. Shoot, I don’t even like my outfits 100% of the time. If that were the case, it means I’m not exploring or being adventurous enough. Whatever you wear, rock it with confidence.
