Happy Hump Day y’all and welcome to my first official edition of #weddingwednesday. I’m going to use these posts to not only keep you up to date on my wedding planning, but to also share the little tricks and tips I pick up along the way. Trust me, I’m by no means a wedding expert (not even close), I’m just someone who loves to have a plan and am learning as I go.
David and I have set a date for 7.7.2018. That’s my late grandma’s birthday. She and I were as close as can be and I love being able to honor her on this special day. Even though we are only 430 days away (but who’s counting), I’m taking on the mindset to plan way ahead and I’m so glad I did! The venues for both the ceremony and reception have already been booked and taken care of. What a huge sigh of relief.
My friends thought I was being a major go getter, but my paranoid mind was having major FOMO: fear of missing out on the venue of my dreams! Taking care of this crucial piece right away seemed like the only logical choice. The wedding coordinator at our reception venue says she already has bookings for September of 2018. Yikes! And I thought I was on the ball!!
All of this planning for my big day would not be possible with out my most essential wedding accessory. This Joyful Wedding Planner from Southern Wedding Magazine has been my lifeline to keeping my mind on track. It covers every possible category you would need for planning your wedding and beyond. Oh, and the name is 100% accurate. Every time I open up the beautiful white cover and see my planning unfold, my heart instantly fills with joy. My favorite part? On the front cover, in yellow gold… “Love never fails.” It gives me all the feels! If you are recently engaged, I cannot recommend this planner enough, but if you have any questions about this wedding planner (or planners in general), be sure to comment below. A little secret about me: I totally geek out over agendas and just want to spread this love with everyone.
Okay, enough wedding talk. How amazing is this little white dress from Leith? It’s actually been sitting in my closet since my Puerto Rico trip, but I hadn’t quite found a reason to wear it… until now! The faux wrap design is one of the most flattering styles you can find in a dress. I swear, I look in the mirror and I feel like I’ve gone down two sizes! I adore every little detail. The cut is truly timeless and the price, you cannot beat. At under $70, I might as well snag the navy version of this dress. My philosophy, when you find something you love, grab it in every color!
