There is a long list of reasons as to why I love my job. On the top of the list, obviously, are my students. I absolutely adore each and every one of them. Next on that list are the vacation days. What can I say, I’m only human… A human that likes her days off every once in a while.
Somewhere on that list (I’m not really sure where) is the fact that I have a huge bit of freedom into what I wear in my day to day. I’ve heard horror stories about principals that make their teachers wear power suits and heels every day. While I can’t just rock denim jeans whenever I feel like it, that’s pretty much the end of the list of what I can’t wear.
This wiggle room gives me huge advantage when I’m styling for the blog. If I still love an outfit after running after kids and standing on my feel all day, it is definitely worthy enough to share with y’all. I also use my 9-5 job to experiment with different color combinations, prints, and fabrics. It’s all for the blog!
Last week, I was playing around with this sweatshirt from J. Crew. I love it, adore it, and would wear it everyday if it were socially acceptable. It’s no secret that I love my leopard, but when I see it paired with red, my heart starts to flutter. So, when I had the light bulb moment to add this pencil skirt to the mix, I already knew I had a winner Even though I’m wearing a super comfy sweatshirt, I still fell and look put together.
Always remember that you don’t necessarily have to sacrifice comfort for style. Find that balance!
Love from Florida,
