I feel like I may be a little late to the 2017 game, but I still feel compelled to share with you some of my hopes and goals for the New Year. Maybe by publishing it for the whole world to see, I will hold myself accountable and be able to stay motivated.
- Read (at least) one book a month. Back when I was a kid, you could almost always find me at the public library, surrounded by a pile of books I was dying to take home. Fast forward to adulthood, when school and work took full control of my life, those trips to the library became few and far between. I want to get back in that habit of reading a book for just the pure enjoyment of it. I’m always open to suggestions and will share with you my favorite finds along the way.
- Run a half-marathon. When I ended my career as a varsity swimmer at Florida State, I was looking to find a new cardio (one that wouldn’t leave my hair damaged from the chlorine). I had always hated the thought of running, but decided to give it another shot. Now a days, I try to get out and run at least 3 times a week and have the best views along Tampa Bay. Little by little, I have bumped up my distance and now I want to give myself a challenge.
- Blog my heart out. This will be my greatest challenge. It’s easy to make excuses for why I shouldn’t be able to sit down and share my thoughts with you, but blogging is something that I’m learning to really enjoy. It’s going to take some early wake up calls and lot of memory on my boyfriend’s camera, but the pride I feel for seeing my published work makes it all worth it.
Please follow me along on my goals for the new year. One of the most critical pieces to being successful at anything is having a support group that cheers for you during the good and bad.
Have any tips or suggestions? Want to keep me posted on your goals? I would love to hear from you. Together, we can all make 2017 our best year yet!
