Hockey season has begun and that means Tampa Bay is in the middle of Lightning fever. When we’ve had such a strong start to the season, can you really blame us? I try to make at least a handful of games each season. Last Saturday was my first game of the season and, even though we lost, it turned out to be a pretty special game. David and I got to give each other a little kiss in front of 20,000 people. It’s not everyday you make the Kiss Cam and if my outfit was good enough for that spotlight, I wanted to make sure I shared it with y’all.
The Lightning’s main color is Royal Blue. I think this color is beautiful, but being a Florida State alum, I always feel weird about sporting the color. It’s too close to that rival territory. But, because I love my hockey team, I always find a few blue pieces to slide into my closet. This blue top from J. Crew is just what I needed! The bell sleeves are so on trend, but it’s a top you can wear all over the place. I’ve only had it for a few weeks, but it has been on major repeat. I’ve worn it to work, church, and around town multiple times. I only regret that I didn’t buy this top in every color it came in. Don’t worry, there’s still time and J. Crew Factory always has a great sale going on.
Going back to the Kiss Cam for a second, there’s a few beauty products that I’m so happy I had so I wasn’t totally embarrassed to be on screen in front of such a large audience:
- Ravenswood VICE Lipstick by Urban Decay: What would a kiss be without a great lip color? This lipstick is creamy and the perfect shade for Fall. I also feel like this color actually makes my teeth look whiter. Now this is all in theory and has yet to be proven, but at least I like how it makes me feel!
- Smoothing Oil by RandCo: This product has been a new addition to my hair routine. I picked it up during my last hair cut, but I have no idea why I’ve gone so long without it. My hair is frizzy to the max, especially in this stiflingly humid Florida air. The frizz is actually the bane of my existence. Just a little droplet of this magic stuff makes a good bulk of that frizz disappear. Triple points because it also makes my hair feel super soft and smell amazing.
- Lemon Drop Detangler Brush from DryBar: Wherever I go, this brush goes. Because of that whole, little frizz problem I just mentioned, this little brush is always tucked inside my bag so I can quickly try and work it’s magic. It’s your standard sized brush, but it has this insane ability to fit into almost any nook or cranny. It also comes in a mini version, here.
I guess the last thing you’ll need is a nice piece of arm candy. I’m so lucky to be saying ‘I Do’ with mine in July. He’s probably the most important piece of this little Kiss Cam puzzle. Hoping you all have someone to make fun memories with or that you’ll find him soon. Happy Monday y’all!
