I’m so STOKED (glitter flats and all) to finally be able to begin sharing my Puerto Rico adventure with you. Building a website practically from the ground up is so time consuming and exhausting (even if your boyfriend is a tech guru extraordinaire).
Anyways, I thought the best place to start would be with our amazing Bed and Breakfast where we stayed. I seriously can’t recommend this place highly enough. Sylvia, the owner, is just wonderful and we can’t wait to stay with her again. She is the owner of The Dreamcather, a fabulous hotel in Ocean Park. We actually stayed in her home (found through Air Bnb), just a few blocks down the road.
Our room was everything we would want it to be, a spacious studio all decked out in the most darling vintage details and lots of natural lighting. Our room was on the second floor with a private balcony, overlooking the courtyard, where we were able to kick back and relax after a full day of exploring, adult beverage in hand. Because Sylvia gives you a hand-drawn map of the area, featuring her favorite local restaurants, navigating the area was a breeze.
My favorite part? Definitely the outdoor shower. I was a little nervous at first because I felt like I could see everything and my brain was telling me that everyone could see me. YIKES! But I’m borderline a prude, so I promise that the shower was actually private and there was no way that anyone could see anything beyond a G-rating. Just make sure you don’t forget to bring a towel to the shower, because that would be a different story.
Every morning, Sylvia would set up the breakfast area that would help us start off our day. She had a great, healthy spread of cereal with almond milk, oatmeal with your choice of fixings, whole-grain toast with Nutella, and fresh fruit. Dave and I would grab our breakfast and relax on our balcony with our morning coffee, just taking in our environment. It was relaxation heaven.
In the upcoming week, I’ll be sharing more about our Puerto Rican adventure: Old San Juan, our romantic dinner for two, tips from our Rainforest Hike, and more!! Be sure to check back soon and often or just sign up for my e-mail so that y’all are never out of the loop.
In the meantime, send me an e-mail or message if you want information on staying with Sylvia. She has five rooms at her home to reserve and even more at The Dreamcatcher. You will not regret it.
Peace and Love from Florida,
