As hard as it sounds, sometimes it’s good to jump out of your comfort zone and try color families that you usually don’t wear. What is that color for me? After sifting through my closet, I found I was lacking in the green department. I have a piece or two, but it is definitely a hue I am lacking in, especially apple green. The reason? Well, I honestly think it just washes me out against my olive skin tone. That’s not something I have to say very often, but here I am.
When I saw this green top from ASOS, I decided I was willing to give it a try. The one-shoulder, ruffled silhouette is a good basic piece to have for summer in your closet. If you are taking a color risk, I highly suggest choosing a style that you know and love. That way, if you find yourself unhappy, you know it’s because of the color and not the piece itself.
Keeping the rest of the outfit, simple and to the point, I opted for my favorite pair of skinny jeans from LOFT and staple platform espadrille wedges from Steve Madden. This look goes great with my Tory Burch clutch. I’ve had this clutch since college and I still pull it out often!
