It’s not quite blue and it’s not quite grey, but this in-between color deserves your attention and a spot in your closet. It’s the kind of color that plays nice with everyone, but what do we call this hue? I feel like it deserves so much more than blue-grey. Looking into it, I found steel blue, cadet blue, or blue bell were all possibilities. Whatever you call it, it’s a color definitely worth exploring.
My first opportunity working with this color came from these high-waisted pants from ASOS. As soon as I my laid eyes on them, I knew I was in love. They are the perfect winter time color and can work with so much I already have in my closet: black, navy, grey, white. Not to mention the tapered silhouette of the pants is very flattering. Because I’m just dying for spring to come back, I decided to style a look that was light, breezy, and still work-place friendly.
The cap sleeve detail on this blouse from ASOS was perfect. It’s a great staple to keep around with just the slightest romantic touch. I already shared my favorite scarf of the season from LOFT here, but couldn’t resist wearing it again. The light blue and yellow floral print is what this outfit needed to help transition from winter to spring. My navy pointed toe heels from Nine West elevate the professional factor. I promise you, these heels are as comfortable as they are chic. I can’t wait to grab them in a few more colors.
My favorite finds for the workplace are versatile staples in fun and exciting colors. In a sea of navy, black, and grey don’t be afraid to stick out a little and leave a memorable first impression. What are your go-to colors to bring some office cheer? Be sure to comment below!
