I’ve finally made it! One last day of work until I’m on Christmas Break. After today, it’s two blissful, relaxing weeks away from work. Normally, my winter holiday is full of traveling. In the past, David and I have gone to Vermont to visit his family and Seaside for a rainy New Years Eve with a dear friend. This year, we are staying put by celebrating Christmas with my family in Florida and New Years in downtown St. Pete. The best news is that I won’t have to head back to work until January 7th. I feel like I almost get another week off.
Even though our time to finish any Christmas shopping is winding down, I’m still thinking of fun outfits to rock around your Christmas tree in. This season definitely has some distinct festive patterns and fabrics that you see all over town. Velvet, plaid, it’s hard to pick a favorite. I’m a huge fan of velvet, but it can be a bit of a challenge to wear. Sometimes a little can go a long way.
With that in mind, I just love this knee length, A-line skirt from J. Crew Factory. The color is a gorgeous winter white with a fun, splash of black polka dots. If you look closely, you’ll notice that the dots are actually velvet. It’s just the right amount to make this look ready for your Christmas dinner with family. Add this black crewneck sweater from J. Crew to help you stay nice and warm. I absolutely love this outfit! I felt like such a 60’s housewife a la Mad Men. What a fun, classic look to put together.
The next time you hear from me, it will be Christmas morning! My family celebrates on Christmas Eve and I can’t wait to share with you what Santa brings me. I’m pretty sure I’m on the nice list. At least I hope I am. Enjoy your eggnog and fruit cake. Merry Christmas!
Love from Florida,
