If there was one time of year where wine got to have a time to shine, it just might be during these winter holidays. For your friends and family who are old enough, it is such a great gift idea. It is so easy to package up and make look presentable, sometimes all it needs is a bow. I also love the choices that are out there: shades of red, pink, and white with every flavor in between. Some people may find this a little overwhelming, but you may just be overthinking it. I, for one, definitely have my preferences when it comes to wine (don’t we all), but I’ve never once been disappointed with any gifted to me. It’s true what they say, it’s the thought that counts.
Now, take what I’m about to say with a grain of salt. I am not a sommelier nor have I received any sort of training. It’s times like these I regret not taking FSU’s wine tasting class! I do know I drink wine often, have a pretty decent palette, and love sharing what I think I know. Sometimes I just pick a bottle by what has the prettiest label. With all that being said, he’s my wino cheat sheet for when you find yourself in need of a quick, but thoughtful liquid gift.
I hope you found that helpful! If that’s not enough, or you’re too nervous to pick out a wine, I have a backup plan. Here are my favorite wine related gift ideas all wrapped up in a nice neat gift guide. Each would be perfect for the connoisseur in your life. I wanted to give a special shout out to this fun tee from J. Crew. Now I have the choice to wear my red, white, or bubbly instead of just drink it.
